We publish original, creative work of a high and distinctive quality by past and present Ivy Tech Community College students, staff, and faculty only. Preference will be given to submissions that are concrete and image-based — we want works that evoke the five senses while avoiding sentimentality.

We are now seeking work for Volume XVIII, out in April 2025.

Our deadline has been extended until midnight on December 1 . Editors will respond to contributors by March 1 the following year.

TEXT SUBMISSIONS:
You may submit up to three text pieces of any genre per issue. No individual piece should be longer than 2000 words (longer pieces will not be considered). Each work should have a title and be submitted individually.

DETAILS:

  •  Works must be uploaded individually. Save each file with the work’s name; do not include your name anywhere in the submission file as works are read blind. All works must be in .doc or .docx format.
  • Our deadline is December 1. Responses will be sent by March 1, 2025.
  • Include a cover letter with a short bio (under 75 words, written in the third person).
  • List the Ivy Tech campus with which you are affiliated and your role (student, faculty, staff, alumni).

Please follow all guidelines to ensure your work is considered for publication.

All published contributors will receive two free copies of the magazine and be invited to participate in Words and Pictures, our annual magazine release party in April.
